140mm Wall Frames
140mm Steel Framing – Strength, Span & Efficiency
If you’re working with high wall frames or wide horizontal spans for ceilings or skillion roofs, our 140mm profile is a smart solution. Its superior strength makes it suitable for light commercial buildings up to 4 storeys high and walls reaching up to 7 metres.
Even in cases where a wall could be built using back-to-back 90mm studs at 600mm centres, switching to a single 140mm stud at the same spacing can often be more cost-effective. When the spans become too demanding for 90mm frames — or when efficiency and budget matter — the 140mm profile offers a practical and economical alternative.
Boost Thermal Performance
Looking to improve insulation? 140mm wall insulation with an R4.0 rating is available, helping to significantly reduce heating and energy costs in residential and commercial builds.
Precision Engineering & Material Flexibility
Our automated rollforming equipment can process:
0.75mm to 0.95mm high-tensile G550 galvanised steel
1.15mm medium-tensile G300 galvanised steel
Standard steel features a Z275 coating with a 50-year durability statement from New Zealand Steel. For harsher environments, we offer a Z450 heavy-duty coating.
Cost-Effective Long Span Solutions
When longer spans are required, instead of tightening stud or rafter spacing (as you would with timber), we simply use a heavier gauge steel at the same spacing. This approach keeps projects cost-competitive while maintaining structural integrity.
Precision Matters
Using state-of-the-art rollforming technology, our components are manufactured with tolerances as tight as 0.5mm. This results in highly accurate, dimensionally consistent frames that are fast and easy to assemble on-site.
